Sonia Mehta
She was worried,
She was scared,
She did not know what to do.
She had earned her living,
But her life had changed,
Through a mistake she didn’t make,
A guilt she didn’t want,
Someone had left her,
For no reason at all.
She was tensed,
For she had kids
And no food today.
She wasn’t sure about tomorrow,
She didn’t know what my come,
If she wanted to stay.
Hunger was strong,
So was the pain,
As all that she had protected,
Was lost in vain.
Would her kids go to school,
Would that have shoes to put on,
How would their lunches be?
And would other kids treat them wrong?
They hadn’t chosen this life,
This wasn’t right.
Why is money more important than Human Life.
Finding answers was hard,
For she was stuck,
In quicksand and didn’t have a way out,
Till someone rescued her out of her plight.
A Better Future for her kids,
A place to call home
That’s all she had wanted,
Only if poverty wasn’t around.
Hope someone wakes up from a slumber one day,
And gives life to these people
Who want to win.
