Why Is It Called Equality When Nothing Is Equal?

Why is it,

Those who work

The hardest,

Earn the least?

Why is it,

One percent of people

Continue to grow in wealth,

While everyone else suffers?

Why is it,

We invite people

Into our country,

But treat them like animals?

Why is it,

The world

Never notices or cares,

Unless it affects them?

Why is it,

People only

Notice the differences,

Not the people?

Why is it,

That most of

The words spoken

Are those to hurt?

Why is it,

The people with money,

Often are too oblivious

To help those without?

Why is it,

We're still fighting

For equality,

When we know we're unequal?

Why is it,

So many others

Suffer, while those

In power thrive?

Why is it,

That life is so unequal,

That we have to

Petition for equality?

Why is it,

There are people

On the streets,

And others in mansions?

Why is it,

That one group

Can be on a pedestal,

All the time?

Why is it,

When we lessen

One equality issue,

Another arises?

Why is it,

Many people die,

Because, they were

Born to the wrong group?

Why is it,

Called equality,

When it seems

There is no equality?
